About Us
To open his business, Jerzy Mrożek needed to have a journeyman's certificate, which he obtained in 1967. In 1968, the workshop was located in Lower Gnaszyn and employed just one person. From 1970 to 1974, the company moved to the Dźbów district and expanded its workforce to three employees. At the same time, the construction of their own facility began. In the early years, lamps were handmade in small quantities without any machinery or equipment. Products were sold directly from the production site, as there was a shortage of almost everything at the time. This scarcity also affected the availability of production materials. The first lamps were made from brass, steel, glass, and wood.
LUMINEX K. Mrożek and Partners is a manufacturing company with roots that go back to 1968. That was the year Jerzy Mrożek, a high school graduate from the State High School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, received permission to start a business in the field of producing souvenir and galanterie items, as well as personal and household objects. Before this, Jerzy Mrożek worked as an art teacher in a high school, an interior decorator, a shop and department store display designer at CENTRUM, and he also collaborated with the CEPELIA folk and artistic craft association in the category of souvenir items, metalwork, and jewelry. Our language is simple and friendly, reflecting our commitment to creating products that light up your world.
In 1974, the construction of the facility at Wielki Bor 17 (now Tatrzańska 57) was completed, and from that point on, all production was carried out at this address. The following year, Jerzy Mrożek earned the title of "Master of Electromechanics," which allowed him to train apprentices, and he began receiving the first awards at exhibitions of artistic craftsmanship. The subsequent years continued to be fraught with challenges in sourcing materials. However, with the easing of travel restrictions at the end of the 1980s, LUMINEX increasingly started to embrace Western European design influences.
That same year, a license to produce lamps from ARTECOON was acquired. LUMINEX had exclusive rights to manufacture for the Polish market as well as Eastern Europe.
Our main goal is to ensure customer satisfaction with the high quality of our products and to build commercial relationships across our ever-expanding distribution area. We continuously focus on improving the quality of our offerings and services, which is why our products come with the necessary certifications and approvals for sale in their respective markets. Most of our products are made from natural materials: metal, glass, wood, and fabric. Combining natural materials with manual shaping, painting, and decorating gives them a unique and noble character. We understand how important it is for customers to be satisfied with their purchase and to enjoy using the product comfortably and for a long time. That's why we use a marketing strategy that focuses on "through the product to good reviews and a strong brand."
